All the talk around the inaugural LIV event is Dustin Johnson but the player who looks most suited is fellow PGA Tour winner Talor Gooch. This is a course that will suit scorers who can get hot with the flat stick. Gooch ranks Top 15 on the PGA Tour in both Putting Average and Birdie or Better. Gooch won the RSM Classic this season and since has nine Top 30 finishes in 13 starts.
Mid-Tier Bet
The top of the market is dominated by PGA Tour players but there is a certain level of disrespect being shown to European Tour players. Horsfield is a sound winner given his young age with three wins in the last three years, two of which came on British soil. Horsfield has the perfect game for Centurion ranking 2nd in Strokes Gained: Approach, 3rd in Strokes Gained: Tee To Green, 3rd in Putting Average and 15th in Birdies.
Value Bet
Well-travelled South African veteran has wins on four different tours and can make it a fifth here. He has won three times in the last 12 months with two wins in Japan and one in his native South Africa. Norris ranks 2nd on the DP World Tour in Putting Average, 3rd in Birdies and 13th in Strokes Gained: Approach.
Longshot Bet
Itthipat Buranatanyarat has been in good form on the Asian Tour with four straight Top 15 results including a T-15 in England last week. He ranks Top 15 in Birdies and Putting Average on the Asian Tour.
