AFL Tips – Collingwood v West Coast – Round 4 2022

Expect the Eagles poor form to continue.

Best Bet

Collingwood -18.5 ($1.95)

Fast moving. High scoring. Exciting. Words not often associated with the Collingwood Football Club during Nathan Buckley’s term as coach, but under Craig McRae the Pies are playing a vastly different style of football.

It’s not without risk though as shown last week when Geelong piled on seven quick goals to come from the clouds and snatch a win.

It looks highly doubtful that West Coast in their present form will present such a challenge. Despite fielding an improved side last week they were destroyed by Fremantle in all aspects of the game. Fremantle is not good.

The inclusions of Tim Kelly and Luke Shuey after covid will no doubt help but the entire Eagles side is disjointed, especially the forward line which is generating scores from just 37% of inside 50’s, the worst rate in the league.

Collingwood should cover comfortably.

Same Game Multi

Collingwood -18.5 / W. Rioli, B. Mihocek 1+ Goal / J. Redden 20+ Disposals / P. Lipinski 20+ Disposals ($4.00)

Rioli has been the sole bright spot in a mediocre Eagles forward line while Mihocek is as reliable as they come having scored a goal in his last twelve games. Neither team has been producing big possession numbers this season but Redden and Lipinski for 20+ looks a safe enough play.

Value Bet

Collingwood 40+ ($3.50)

Even with the return of key personnel the Eagles look terrible. If the Pies get a roll on, they could easily win by seven goals or more as they did against Adelaide in round 2.
