Racing Tips – Saturday Best Bets for Caulfield

The Caulfield carnival kicks off with three Group 1 races headlined by the Caulfield Guineas. With perfect weather around the track should be good.

Best Bet

6. A Little Deep
Caulfield R3 (1.25pm)

A Little Deep continues to race in terrific form this prep and looks primed here. The mare comes off last start second over this track and trip and the form out of the race has been strong with Revolutionary Miss winning at Flemington last week and Comrade Rosa running well at the same meeting. She comes in well at the set weights and Mark Zahra will give her every chance from barrier two.

Recommended Price: $3.00
Confidence Level: 4.5/5

More Racing Tips

8. Saban
Caulfield R1 (12.15pm)

Saban looks a very worthy favourite to kick proceedings off at Caulfield. He produced a huge run first up to win at Flemington coming from back in the field but from barrier one should be capable of settling closer in the run, and getting out to 1700m second up is perfect.

Recommended Price: $2.50
Confidence Level: 4/5

1. Vibrant Sun
Caulfield R4 (2.00pm)

Vibrant Sun looks the value in this mares race. Forget her first up run in a race that was dominated on speed last time out, back on top of the ground and out in trip she is capable of improving sharply. Expect her to sit closer in the run and be right in the finish.

Recommended Price: $10
Confidence Level: 3/5

3. Post Impressionist
Caulfield R6 (3.15pm)

Happy to take a chance on Post Impressionist improving sharply here. First up over a long trip can be excused while I suspect the heavy going last time out was not to his liking. The gelding should be at peak fitness now and his best form is certainly good enough.

Recommended Price: $6.00
Confidence Level: 3/5

6. Deny Knowledge
Caulfield R7 (3.50pm)

If there’s going to be an upset in the Might And Power then I think Deny Knowledge can be the one to cause it. She missed the kick last time out and lost all chance but still ran well under the circumstances. Expect her to lead with not much opposition this time and take a lot of catching.

Recommended Price: $6.00
Confidence Level: 3/5

4. Another Wil
Caulfield R10 (5.45pm)

Another Wil has long promised to be a Group 1 horse and he looks set to break through in this year’s Toorak Handicap. His first up win a this track was incredible and last time out he did a great job to overcome difficulty in winning. The sticky part here is barrier one but if he has some luck in the run he should prove too good.

Recommended Price: $2.70
Confidence Level: 4/5
