The Bengals season went down with Joe Burrow and with virtually nothing to play for, they look primed for a hiding from the in-form Jaguars.
Best Bet
This shaped as one of the best prime time matches of the season but with Joe Burrow’s season over it is hard to envisage a scenario where this game is close.
Jake Browning has stepped in as quarterback and while his passing numbers looked okay last week against the Steelers, the Bengals could only manage ten first downs for the entire game.
Cincinnati’s inability to run the football was a problem even with Burrow at quarterback, and without him, they will struggle to put up enough points to beat anyone, let alone Jacksonville with Trevor Lawrence playing at an extremely high level.
The Jags have won seven of their last eight games with their only loss in that time coming to San Francisco. Their defense, especially the defensive line, has also showed up with six sacks in the last two weeks.
Browning was sacked four times by the Steelers last week and it’s hard to see the Bengals offensive line, which is ranked in the Top 10 for sacks allowed even with Burrow under centre for most of the season, keeping Browning upright long enough for plays to develop.
The Jags are a league leading 8-3 against the number this season (and 6-1 as favourites), they can cover yet another line here.
Same Game Multi
The Bengals poor running game means that Browning will need to throw early and often in this one. Lawrence has cleared this line in three of his last four games and the Bengals have allowed more than 248 passing yards in their last six games.
Value Bet
Admittedly this is a little contradictory to the last angle but it’s hard to ignore that Lawrence has three rushing touchdowns in the last two games. Those attempts went for a total of ten yards however.
