NFL Tips – Philadelphia Eagles @ Houston Texans – Week 8 2022

Betseeker’s expert NFL tipsters have you covered for the best tips and predictions for every game of the NFL season.

In a match up between the only unbeaten team in the league, and the team with the (equal) worst record in the league, things could get ugly.

The Texans were destroyed by the Aldi version of the Eagles offence last week and with the real thing coming to town, another hiding looks on the cards.

Houston knew that the only weapon Tennessee had in its armory was the running game – they were starting rookie QB Malik Willis, who can barely complete a pass (he went for 55 yards on 10 attempts in the game). That meant they should have been able to zero in on stopping the run and slow the Titans offence to a crawl.

Should have, but didn’t. The Titans still ran for 314 yards on 45 carries. Yes, Derrick Henry is a future hall of fame back, but Dontrell Hilliard isn’t and he still averaged more than 10 yards per rush.

Unfortunately for Houston, things get even worse this week with the league’s dominant run game coming to town. The Eagles have a monster offensive line, and they are going to be able to run the ball at will.

Things don’t get much better on the other side of the ball. Texans QB Davis Mills has been a huge disappointment this season. Not only is he inaccurate (21% of his passes have been off target this season), he can’t move the ball even when he does hit targets, with only 25.8% of his passes turning into a first down, the second worst rate in the league.

This is problematic at the best of times, but it is diabolical when you are playing a Philadelphia side ranked equal first in the league for yards allowed and second for points allowed.

This is how you go 1-5-1 despite only playing two teams with winning records, one of which was the aforementioned Titans.

14 points is a big number, but it isn’t big enough.

Same Game Multi

Eagles -13.5, Miles Sanders 100+ Rushing Yards, Jalen Hurts Under 28.5 Pass Attempts

Jalen Hurts won’t need to pass the ball much for the Eagles to win. The Eagles leading rusher Miles Sanders should put up huge numbers here and even Boston Scott can get in on the action.

Value Bet

Miles Sanders
150+ Rushing Yards

The Texans have allowed the leading rusher for the opposing team to run for more than 143 yards in four of their seven games this season. Three of those have cracked the 150 yard mark. Miles Sanders is enormous value to do it here.
