Best Bet

5. Paulele
Moonee Valley R7 (9:15pm)

Paulele looks ideally placed to claim his first Group 1 in the Manikato Stakes. The Godolphin team is on fire at present and he showed he is in career best form with a terrific win last start at Caulfield, coming from what looked like an awkward position to score with something in hand. The pace should be on from the outset here and James McDonald should position him midfield and pounce late.

Recommended Price: $3.50
Confidence Level: 4.5/5

More Racing Tips

4. Grandslam
Moonee Valley R2 (6:45pm)

Grandslam resumes from a spell in what looks a winnable race. Despite being a half to Jameka he didn’t seem to relish staying trips and might be better suited over distances out to 2000m. The Maher/Eustace trained gelding has jumped out very well and most of these are out of form or have seen better days.

Recommended Price: $4.60
Confidence Level: 3.5/5

7. Vultan
Moonee Valley R3 (7:45pm)

Vultan gets blinkers back on and that should spark a much improved performance here. The gelding was unlucky first up at Mornington when caught wide then clearly the blinkers coming off had a negative impact last start. He draws to get the run of the race from the perfect draw and the stable is in good form.

Recommended Price: $4.00
Confidence Level: 3.5/5

10. Yowie
Moonee Valley R4 (8:15pm)

Yowie showed plenty at her first two career runs and can win here first up. The John Sadler trained filly won on debut before running 4th in Listed company back in April. Spelled since, she has jumped out superbly for this, most recently comfortably holding subsequent dominant winner I’m Innocent at Pakenham. The map is the concern, but the speed should be on from the outset and Damian Lane should be able to slot her in.

Recommended Price: $4.00
Confidence Level: 3.5/5

5. Coolth
Moonee Valley R8 (9:45pm)

Coolth has been a hard horse to catch but his best form wins this race. The key to his chances here is that he has drawn a wide barrier, perfect for him given he is a big horse who needs a lot of galloping room. Kerrin McEvoy will likely get back in the run, but if they are capable of making ground by this time of night he can storm over the top of them.

Recommended Price: $6.00
Confidence Level: 3/5
